Recommended Wii Games for Beginners, Whether You'll Be a Hardcore Gamer or Not

Being a natural gamer, I love games, and love suggesting ideas as to games that people should buy. Well, a while ago, I got a question for my advice column, and it was this:
"Cameron, I just got a Wii and I am really a novice at the whole world of video games. Can you suggest an assortment of games for a beginner and then what I could move up to when I am more skilled? I also want to have enough of an assortment for when I have a larger group of friends come visit. I pretty much like all different kinds of games so I am open to any suggestions. Thanks." - Corey
Casual Games
These are games for the person who hasn't been gaming for ages, and isn't all "WTF NOOBS HOW DARE YOU BEAT ME!?"*
Wii Sports - This is the game that comes with the Wii, and is for everyone. Have some family fun with it! Show your siblings, your parents, your children, even your grandchildren, what you're made of in this 5 sport fun pack. I recommend everyone who has a Wii to play this with relatives.
Wii Play - With simple games from Spot the Mii and shooting things to crazy games like cow racing, this is a game for all those who want a laugh and a Wii bit of fun (ouch!).
Wii Music - This game is not a simulation. If you accept that fact, then you should be able to have a good time with this. It's got a great orchestral mode, where you obviously conduct an orchestra, some musical mini game and normal play.
After Beginning Games
I don't know what to call them, so this is your title. These are obviously games you should get after you played the "casual" ones, but really, you can get these at any time.
Mario Kart Wii - I love this kart racing game. You don't need to like normal racing games to enjoy this one. You can play as a whole bunch of Mario characters and with items on it can be absolute madness. Another good point is that you can play this game whether you have people to play with or not. Single player is great, as is multiplayer.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl - This is a button masher, but who cares? It's crazy, it's out of hand with loads of players with items on when on a crazy stage, and it is absolute great fun. This game gets a lot of slack for some reason, but it's probably because the prequel, Melee, was so good. But this one's great anyway. If you just want a laugh, and don't mind button mashers (and lag when online), by this great fighting/party game!
Super Mario Galaxy - The only one here with a proper plot (not including Brawl's single player Subspace Emissary), and a great one at that. The graphics? Great. Music? Great. Gameplay? Great. Only one problem: the multiplayer. It's... not the best, to say the least. Actually, it's pretty much non-existent, it's that bad. But buy it for its single player ASAP. Plus, a sequel is coming out this year, so you better get training!
New Super Mario Bros Wii - Family game of 2009, I'd say. No, I'll say: "THE game of 2009." It's terrific. Play with your friends, your family, or even by yourself! Madness will ensue on the multiplayer modes, but that adds to the fun! This is a great sequel to a great DS game. I fully recommend it.
Virtual Console/Wii Ware
This is the hard section, as there are too many game here for me to have even scratched the surface, so, here's just a few games I liked that I recommend.
Megaman 9 and Megaman 10 - You'll all remember growing up with your NES's and having fun when one hard game came along. Megaman. You hated how hard it was, yet you loved it? Didn't you? Well, Megaman 9 and Megaman 10 are difficult too, and guess what? They're designed to be just like the NES games. You can't say Capcom don't love you.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - While I've not played the Wii Ware port, I am a massive fan of the DS versions, and I have heard it almost a direct port. If you want to read funny dialogue, cross-examine people with silly names, and solve murder mysteries as a lawyer, then this game is for you.
Any Classic Mario (including the 2 RPGs) - It's Mario, what else can you say? The platformers are classic, and the two RPGs, Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario, are great fun. Buy these if you're a true Nintendo fan. Plus, if you want a challenge, download Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels. You WILL pull your hair out.
And finally, what NOT to buy: The Ninjabread Man - If you value yourself, you won't buy this. Just don't. Don't even consider it.
So, these are the games I recommend. I'd recommend some others, but I haven't played every Wii game, so I can't. I still hope that you can use this guide to make sensible choices though. If you have any more questions, or recommendations of your own, say! I won't mind answering questions or seeing your recommendations.
*Disclaimer: I have nothing against hard core gamers. I just could not resist the joke.
